​Shai recently graduated from Northwestern University with a BA in Performance Studies and a minor in Theatre. She did many extracurriculars and was not chill about it at ALL (please ask her about the epic highs and lows of collegiate improv.)​

​

In 2023, Shai was a semifinalist at the NYC Queer Comedy Festival. In 2024, she opened for the Meerkat Comedy Hour with Lukas Arnold and Gabby Jordan Brown at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In 2025, she received honors for her senior thesis, Trimmings, a 45-minute stand-up special. Her faculty sponsors included the Performance Studies Department Chair Joshua Chambers-Letson, and Tony Award-winning director of Metamorphoses and Macarthur Fellow Mary Zimmerman. ​

Since graduating, Shai has launched an unexpected film acting career in Israel, where she holds dual-citizenship. This past January, she wrapped filming for "Tankistas," directed by Ayelet Menahemi, and she was just cast in her second Israeli feature film as another Supporting Lead. Between now and this next project, she plans to go to Clown School and cancel her LinkedIn Premium subscription.
